Job Grid ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to be clear and short — no dark patterns, no buried clauses.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in a few ways:

• Account information — Name, email, password (hashed), company name, and any profile data you provide (phone, photo).
• Time-tracking data — Clock-in/out timestamps, GPS coordinates at the moment of clock-in (used for geofence verification), and shift records.
• Usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar telemetry — used to improve the product and detect abuse.
• Payment data — Handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never store full credit card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and improve the Service
• Verify clock-in events against geofenced job sites
• Generate timesheets, schedules, and payroll exports for your business
• Send transactional emails (password resets, invites, billing receipts)
• Respond to support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or use Customer Data to train AI models.

3. Data Sharing

We share information only with:

• Service providers we need to operate the Service (e.g., hosting on Vercel, database on Supabase, email on Resend, payments on Stripe). Each is bound by data-processing terms.
• Within your company — Managers at your company can see employee time data, locations during clock-in, and contact information. This is the whole point of the product.
• Legal authorities — Only when required by valid legal process.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards:

• HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit
• Encryption at rest (provided by our database provider)
• Row-Level Security so one company cannot read another's data
• Principle-of-least-privilege access controls for staff
• Daily automated backups

No system is 100% secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you promptly as required by law.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and download your data from the Settings page
• Update your profile information at any time
• Delete your account — we will permanently remove your Customer Data within 30 days
• Opt out of marketing emails (transactional emails like password resets cannot be opted out of while you have an active account)

If you're in California, the EU/UK, or another region with specific privacy rights (CCPA, GDPR, etc.), you have additional rights under those laws. Contact us at privacy@jobgridai.com to exercise them.

6. Location Data

Job Grid's geofencing feature uses your phone's GPS to verify you're at a job site when you clock in. We collect this location only at the moment of clock-in / clock-out and store it alongside the corresponding time entry. We do not continuously track your location in the background.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

8. Children

Job Grid is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via email and an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
